The weather’s getting hotter, the sun’s getting stronger, and summertime is in full swing. But before you catch some rays, you need to find yourself a sweet pair of sunglasses. Sunglasses can put the perfect accent on an outfit, making a person stand out in any crowd. Don’t know what type of shades you want to rock this summer? To give you some ideas, we put together a list of the coolest sunglasses in movie history. Whether they appear for one scene or the whole movie, these are the most memorable glasses we’ve ever seen!
The Blues Brothers (1980)
From the opening scene to the climactic ending, The Blues Brothers rock some of the most iconic glasses to ever make it on the big screen. If you wore a pair of shades that were this cool, you’d feel like a soul man, too.
Risky Business (1983)
If there’s one thing that we can take away from Risky Business, it’s that Tom Cruise knows how to sport a sweet pair of sunglasses. His stylish, big-frame shades have him looking cooler than ever.
Fight Club (1999)
We know you’re not supposed to talk about fight club, but let’s talk about Brad Pitt’s sunglasses. His character’s first scene is an incredible one, and the shades are one of the reasons why it’s so memorable.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
The glasses that Brian has on while he blazes it up with his classmates make the smoking scene from The Breakfast Club an absolute classic. These shades are as dope as they come.
American Psycho (2000)
Black and bold, the sunglasses that Christian Bale sports in American Psycho are hard to forget. They hide the eyes of a crazy killer. Don’t ask him about the reservation at Dorsia.
Men in Black (1997)
When Agent J is introduced to The Men in Black, it’s the first time we see the iconic black shades (which are present throughout the entire franchise). “You know what the difference is between you and me? I make these look good.”
The Hangover (2009)
Whether it’s Alan, Phil, or the baby they found on their wild Las Vegas adventure, this movie is loaded with sick sunglasses that are the definition of cool.
Taxi Driver (1976)
One of the darker movies on this list, the glasses that Robert De Niro rocks in Taxi Driver seem to be a part of his character (Possibly to hide that fact that he’s insane).
The Matrix (1999)
Not only are these glasses important to the people that enter The Matrix, but they are also some of the coolest glasses in movie history!
Gremlins (1984)
There’s nothing funnier than watching the Gremlins party it up in a bar on Christmas Eve. The shades they wear only make an appearance in this scene, but it’s one of the best scenes in the entire movie.
