Kakashi Hatake
“Those who break the rules are scum, that’s true … but those who abandon their friends are worse than scum.”
Whether you know him as the 6th Hokage, Kakashi Sensei, or the Copy Ninja Kakashi, his name is well known across the 5 Great Nations. He taught us the meaning of friendship, the code of a shinobi, and what it truly means to work as a team. An S-Rank ninja with the power of the Sharingan and over 1,000 different jutsu at his disposal, there’s no wonder why he’s a fan-favorite character among anime fans everywhere. Invest in your very own Kakashi T Shirt or Kakashi Long Sleeve, and you’ll certainly look like a force to be reckoned with.
Naruto Uzumaki
“Hard work is worthless for those that don’t believe in themselves.”
The 7th Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, also known as the 9 Tailed Jinchūriki, is the ultimate underdog. His story is one of hard work, friendship, and perseverance that’s filled with countless emotional moments on both ends of the spectrum. His sheer will, loyalty, and undying desire to become Hokage are truly inspiring motivations, and the many trials he goes through to achieve his dreams in the show are the perfect lesson for any impressionable youth.
Sasuke and Itachi Uchiha
“You and I are flesh and blood. I’m always going to be there for you, even if it’s only as an obstacle for you to overcome. Even if you do hate me. That’s what big brothers are for.”
When you talk about Naruto Shippuden, you can’t go without mentioning the legendary brothers of the Uchiha clan, Sasuke and Itachi. Users of the Sharingan and some of the most powerful Genjutsu in the show, it’s no wonder why they are both fan favorites. The fated battle between the brothers is one of the most hyped up and memorable moments in the show, and any hardcore fans know that what we learn soon after flips everything we know leading up to that moment right on its head! Grab yourself a Sasuke or Itachi T Shirt and you’ll be looking dope.
Orochimaru
“You know how the game of chess is played… pieces must be sacrificed!”
Formerly known as one of the three Legendary Sannin of the Leaf, Orochimaru is one of Naruto’s most notorious antagonists. His ambition of mastering every jutsu in the ninja world, as well as his attempt to become immortal through his various experiments, would be his downfall. But the presence that this character has on-screen is unmatched and easily puts him in our list of favorites from the show.
Naruto is loved by many because of how relatable so many of the characters are. With various ninja villages and thousands of different types of jutsu there’s almost a character for everyone to resonate with. If you look at many of the tropes and themes in the show like being a part of a clan, hand signals, having rivalries, etc. there’s an obvious connection between what’s considered ninja life and the culture that surrounds the urban environments that some of our favorite rappers grew up in. Hence why there has been an almost natural appreciation for one another. Pay attention to your favorite tunes and you might notice an anime reference or two you may have never heard before.
